“I Love You So Much It Scares Me”

The incredible James Flames is the next artist to tackle our sold-out ‘The Crow” print series!

We teased this image on OUR TUMBLR page last week- and here it is in it’s full glory!

This beautiful 18×24 hand-printed silkscreen piece will be available for sale on the Nakatomi Site at approximately 2pm Central Time on Wednesday, September 12th in the ART PRINTS section of the store.

Printed by James Flames in his studio, this lush 7 color print is signed and numbered in an edition of only 145, and will never be reprinted. The entire edition glows in the dark!  Here’s a digital mock-up of the glow effect-

We approached James about doing a print in this series several months ago, as we detected a certain…comic book sensibilities to his work, and we were very happy to find that he was a huge fan of the original Crow comic as well! Working with both James Flames and The Crow’s creator, James O’Barr, was a rare honor, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results.  Flames really created a nice conceptual piece here- by having the ghost of Shelly reach out through the black border surrounding the print, it places her on a different plane than that of Eric-she’s reaching into the print from the viewer’s perspective, which also echoes the act of ‘breaking a panel border’.  James is playing with the form of both prints and comic-books, the medium in which The Crow originated.  Very smart stuff.

The print is in hand and ready for immediate shipment.

For a look at the printing process, head on over to our Tumblr for a look at the process pics James took as he laid down each layer HERE.

See you on Wednesday here at 2pm Central time to pick one of these up!

And while you’re at it- pop on over to JAMES FLAMES’ site to see more of his amazing work!
